Basketball Champions League Asia round 1 best performance: Joseph Young (by Hoops Agents)

American Guard Joseph Young (188-G-1992) had an amazing evening in the last round for top-ranked Shahrdari Gorgan, receiving a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 1.
The 31-year old player was the main contributor (33 points and two assists) to his team's victory, helping them to crush, the league's bottom-ranked team KCC Egis (#2, 0-1) with 23-point margin 102-79. The game was between two of the league's top four teams. It allowed Gorgan to take over top position in the Basketball Champions League Asia. But it's just the very beginning of the season and Gorgan won just one (their first) game. It's too early to say anything as the standings can be changed completely after next round. In the team's last game Young had a remarkable 64.3% from 2-point range and got four three-pointers out of 6 attempts. He just recently signed at Gorgan and it was his first game, where he immediately became new team's leader.

The second best player in last round's games was young Bosnia and Herzegovina Elmedin Kikanovic (211-C-1988) of league's leader Sporting Al Riyadi Beirut. Kikanovic had a very good evening with 27 points and 9 rebounds. Of course he led Al Riyadi to another comfortable win outscoring Liaoning FL (0-1) 118-75. His team has extremely good start of the season. They won their first game. However the season is at the beginning, so everything can happen. They still may lose their high position in the standings. Kikanovic is one of the most experienced players at Al Riyadi and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players.

Third on the list of top players last round was another Al Riyadi's star - American guard Zach Lofton (193-G-1993, agency: Slash Sports). Lofton showcased his all-around game by recording 20 points, 6 rebounds and 9 assists in the last round. He was another key player of Sporting Al Riyadi Beirut, helping his team with a 118-75 easy win against #4 ranked Liaoning FL in a game of the week. Al Riyadi has a very good start of the season. But there was just one game played, so it's too early to judge them at this stage. Lofton also has a very good start of the season with very strong stats. The season just started for Lofton as he played only first game. But it already looks like he can be another team's leader.
